What is IPL?

IPL means “intense pulsed light,” and it works by directing pulses of filtered light into the skin. The InMode IPL system pulses fractional and bipolar radiofrequency into the dermis and sub-dermis to reduce sagging skin and wrinkles. No invasive treatments are needed!

How Intense Pulsed Light Works

IPL for hair removal works by directing light energy into the hair. The pigment (colour) in the hair absorbs the energy, and this heats it and destroys the hair at the root without affecting the surrounding skin. Newer technological advances have made it possible for those with darker complexions to get significant hair removal results, too!

For skin laxity and rejuvenation, we use IPL for skin resurfacing on the face and neck that exhibit wrinkles, discoloration or acne scarring. We also use it to firm the skin for a non-surgical neck lift, to tighten the skin under the eyes and for sagging skin on the face. What Does An IPL Appointment Feel Like?

InMode’s IPL technologies make the hair removal and skin tightening feel more comfortable. You’ll feel a tingling or a slight snapping sensation during the treatment, and the majority of our clients can easily tolerate this sensation without the use of anesthetics. Slight redness that looks like a mild sunburn may linger for a day or two after the appointment.
